QUARANTINE FUMIGATION FOR TIMBER

Fumigation is one of the export requirements by international provisions contained in various collective agreements, agreed in the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) recommended by the world trade body (WTO).

Issuance of fumigation registration certificates is officially AFASID registration issued by the Government of Indonesia and legally recognized by the international. Fumigation certificates must be signed by fumigation technical competencies (official competencies) who have international registration.

Fumigation is a technique to control or eradicate insect pests without damage the product which is being treated. Meanwhile, the meaning of fumigation is a treatment by spraying chemicals where it will react in polluting the air in the treatment room so that insects can be destroyed.

There are two types of chemicals used for fumigation, namely: Methyl Bromide and Phosphine.
